• Format: an e-mail contains 3 parts:

  • the body, containing the message itself
  • the header, containing information about the message and filled by the UA
    • the name of the sender
    • the subject
  • the envelope containing information about the transmission of the e-mail and filled by all the MTAs (like the stamps on a snail-mail)
