• Ethernet “speed”:

  • Standard ethernet transmit data at 10 Mbits/s
  • Currently, most of the interfaces can run at 100 Mbits/s (100BaseT) and some can run at 1 Gbits/s

• Ethernet frame:

8 synchronization bytes

2 bytes for the type of data:IP,ARP,...

between 46 and 1500 bytes
